Elmnator Overclocks Intel Core i9-9900K to 5.44GHz with Custom Copper Loop

Computer modder, Twitch streamer, and long time Hardocp member Elmnator has just validated his system with an Intel Core i9-9900K running at 5.44GHz, and 16GB of G.Skill DDR4 running at 4334MHz with CAS 18 timings.
Elmnator hit those numbers with a MSI MEG Z390 GODLIKE motherboard, an NVIDIA RTX 2080 TI, and an epic custom copper water loop.

Lexar Launches 1TB SD Card

At CES 2019, Lexar launched what appears to be the world's first 1TB SD Card. There are a few suspiciously cheap "1TB" SD Cards on Amazon and other e-tailers, but they're almost certainly fakes, and the 1TB SD Card that SanDisk announced in 2016 ended up being vaporware. Lexar notes that they launched a 1GB SD Card less than 15 years ago, and say this card should be capable of speeds of up to 95MB/s. According to an announcement they made in October last year, a 1TB microSD card is on the way too.

Uber partner reveals air taxi design at CES

Bell, one of Uber's flying taxi partners, revealed the design of its vertical takeoff and landing air taxi at CES, a five-person hybrid-electric powered vehicle with six tilting ducted fans. The company showed off the cabin of its air taxi at CES last year, and this year, it's debuting a scale model of the vehicle now dubbed the Bell Nexus.

Uber is working with a number of companies on its future air taxi service, and Bell was an early partner. In May, Uber showed off one of its air taxi prototypes at its Uber Elevate Summit, and it has said it aims to have aircrafts available for commercial operations by 2023. CNBC says Uber called Bell's design a "major step" in its effort to develop "an on-demand Uber Air network."

In line with Uber's plans, Bell's director of innovation, Scott Drennan, told The Verge that the company intends to have Nexus in operation by the "mid 2020s." "This is not a toy. This is an aircraft you would feel safe and comfortable bringing your family into," he said. 

Linux For Cars: Tesla Isn't The Only Automaker Running Linux Under the Hood

ZDNet reports that by 2020, "many, if not most, new cars will be running with Linux." While some companies, like Tesla, run their own homebrew Linux distros, most rely on Automotive Grade Linux (AGL). AGL is a collaborative cross-industry effort developing an open platform for connected cars with over 140 members... Its membership includes Audi, Ford, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Mercedes, Suzuki, and the world's biggest automobile company: Toyota. Why? "Automakers are becoming software companies, and just like in the tech industry, they are realizing that open source is the way forward," said Dan Cauchy, AGL's executive director, in a statement. Car companies know that while horsepower sells, customers also want smart infotainment systems, automated safe drive features, and, eventually, self-driving cars. Linux and open-source company can give them all of that. The AGL's goal is to develop an open-source, common platform for infotainment systems: The Unified Code Base (UCB). This is a Linux distribution and open-source software platform for car infotainment, telematics, and instrument cluster applications... The AGL's hope is that this will serve as a de facto industry standard. It's well on its way. Yesterday Hyundai announced that they were also joining both the AGL effort and the Linux Foundation.

Samsung prezintă gama pe 2012: Smart LED şi televizoarele cu plasmă ce mizează pe conectivitate şi control facil

La CES 2012 a fost prezentată şi noua gamă de televizoare a sud-coreenilor de la Samsung. Se mizează pe trei funcţii încorporate:

Smart Interaction – se referă la lansarea şi folosirea unor aplicaţii prin intermediul Motion Control, Voice Control şi Face Recognition; Dintre funcţiile încorporate mai amintesc: Samsung Apps are 1.400 de aplicaţii globale. Vă reamintesc o parte dintre cele mai importante aplicaţii: ESPN Score Center, Hulu Plus, MTV Music, Netflix, Angry Birds, Discovery Channel, M-GO, NBC Bravo, VH1, etc, etc. Grosimea noilor televizoare Samsung este cuprinsă între 5 şi 12 mm. Modelee din seria ES8000 au un suport metalic în formă de U care impresionează în mod plăcut, design minimalist. Observaţi că plasma pare a se fi reinventat în 2012. Samsung aduce televizorul cu plasmă E80000, are lăţimea de 1.5 inch. Rama este neagră cu margini transparente. Promite un negru intens. Dispune ca şi Smart LED-urile de funcţiile amintite mai sus, de un procesor dual-core pentru a efectua mai multe acţiuni simultan.

Smart Content – conţinut interesant livrat direct pe televizor şi aici se referă la servicii de tip cloud ce permit împărtăşirea de fotografii direct pe tv, se poate monitoriza şi starea de sănătate, conţinut educaţional pentru cei mici. Totul este cu putinţă prin intermediul aplicaţiilor dedicate – Samsung Apps şi Samsung Media Hub cu multi-tasking avansat. Poţi naviga pe internet şi în acelaşi timp să descarci aplicaţii;

Smart Evolution – se promite o reinventare periodică a televizorului fără a fi nevoie să schimbi televizorul. Au dezvoltat un kit denumit Evolution Kit care conectat la tv-ul de acasă îi oferă funcţiile de mai jos

AMD Eyefinity suportă output pentru 5 monitoare, rulează excelent jocurile (Video)

Nouă tehnologia AMD Eyefinity este revoluţionară prin faptul că permite unui singur procesor grafic să suporte până la 6 display-uri via output simultan. Multitasking-ul este la putere astfel, iar cei de la Tom’s Hardware au avut ocazia să testeze tehnologia, după cum puteţi vedea mai jos. Implicat este procesorul grafic Radeon 6990s, în mod 5×1, astfel că sunt folosite 5 monitoare pentru a rula jocul Dirt 3, pe care îl vedeţi în acţiune în clipul de mai jos. Din păcate marginile display-urile strică puţin din experienţă, dar am auzit că LG ar lucra la ecrane fără margini. Tehnologia Eyefinity este suportată pe Windows 7, Windows Vista şi Linux.

Logitech Z906 – un nou sistem audio cu difuzoare de 500W şi certificare THX

Logitech tocmai a lansat un nou sistem audio, pe numele său Logitech Surround Sound Speakers Z906. Acesta este un sistem 5.1 şi vine cu certificare THX şi decodare digitală 5.1. Ansamblul include un amplificator de 500W, cu 5 canale de 67W şi încă 165W care ajung direct în subwoofer.

Inputurile includ două porturi digitale optice, un port digital coaxial, 6 canale direct analog, RCA şi un socket 3.5 mm stereo. Până la 6 terminale pot fi conectate simultan şi la pachet cu acest sistem primiţi şi o telecomandă conectată via infraroşu. Fiecare dintre difuzoarele cu surround poate fi montat pe perete.

Preţul lui Logitech Z906 este de 349.99 dolari, produsul urmând să sosească în curând pe piaţă.

Pioneer anunţă noi unităţi audio (receivere A/V) din seria VSX; acum şi cu suport pentru streaming de pe telefon

Pioneer a anunţat astăzi 4 noi receivere A/V din seria VSX, toate compatibile cu streaming audio de pe telefonul mobil via Bluetooth (printr-un adaptor special). Cel mai high end model este VSX-1021, care costă 549 de dolari şi vine cu numeroase moduri de conectare la PC, smartphone-uri şi alte terminale, printre care şi cele Apple via conexiune Airplay.

Suportul Airplay şi Bluetooth îi va încânta pe împătimiţii şi posesorii de gadgeturi de top, care includ şi conexiuni Bluetooth. Muzica de pe telefon sau laptop va ajunge imediat pe sistemele audio prin intermediul accesoriilor Pinoneer VSX. În plus, receiverele suporta DLNA, Internet Radio şi sunt chiar compatibile cu aplicaţii Pioneer pentru iPhone, care transformă handsetul în telecomanda.

Noile modele sunt VSX-521, cu preţul de 249 de dolari, VSX-821, cu preţ de 349 de dolari, VSX-921, cu preţ de 449 dolari şi VSX-1021, menţionat anterior.

Noile PC-uri All-In-One de la Sony VAIO

      A treia lansare Sony VAIO din aceasta saptamana consta in PC-urile AIO (All-In-One) din Seria L. Noile PC-uri sunt echipate cu display multitouch cu diagonala de 24 inch, sistem “edge access” si procesoare Intel i5 sau i7 in functie de preferintele cumparatorului. Sistemul “edge access” permite utilizatorului sa acceseze diferite aplicatii prin simpla apasare a catorva zone de pe marginea monitorului.
